Message to children and young adults: Don’t believe the hype that you are hearing from Extinction Rebellion and the like. Rather than going on strike or just worrying, take the time to learn something about the science of climate change. The IPCC reports are a good place to start; for a critical perspective on the IPCC, Climate Etc. is a good resource.
Climate change — man made and/or natural — along with extreme weather events, provide reasons for concern. However, the rhetoric and politics of climate change have become absolutely toxic and nonsensical.
In the mean time, live your best life. Trying where you can to lessen your impact on the planet is a worthwhile thing to do. Societal prosperity is the best insurance policy that we have for reducing our vulnerability to the vagaries of weather and climate.
Researchers at Tel-Aviv University have found plants making airborne emission of ultrasound screams when subjected to stress. They suspect that the sounds are generated by a process called cavitation. The sound may be alerting other plants nearby. Researchers have for the first time found evidence of plants making airborne emission of ultrasound screams when subjected […]

Wow.
The company’s chopped “chicken” is made with pea and wheat protein, herbs such as sage and thyme, and salt and pepper, without preservatives, additives, or artificial flavors or colors. “I think that in the plant-based category, there’s so much innovation and so much excitement going around with what we can develop in a lab and what science can really add to the category,” Song says. “But at the end of the day, this is ‘We’re in the food space,’ and I think people are forgetting that this needs to be food.”
Still. Not. Meat.
Read the entire article and decide for yourself.
Why do you need food that pretends to be something other than what it is?
A vegan is suing Burger King because its Impossible Whoppers are meat adjacent
Somehow none of this makes any sense to me.
Update 12.15.19
And it doesn’t make any sense to VegNews either.
Personal Purity and the Vegan Politics of a Shared Burger Grill
Every vegan who is connected to the internet knows about the shared grill situation, and if you’re not comfortable with it, then don’t eat at those restaurants. It’s that simple.

What does cable news do to your brain? A neurosurgeon explains.
The availability of up to the minute information, presented 24/7/365, could assist a democratic society in making the best choices in determining its future. That was the promise of cable news. Unfortunately, cable news has fallen short of its potential and has led to the further polarization of America. More than that, it has changed the way your brain works.
Does cable news change how your brain works?
Possibly. But I take no chances. I don’t watch cable news networks.
Daddy always told me you go to college so that they can teach you how to think.
Unfortunately nowadays institutions of higher “education” teach the young what to think, not how to think.
Think about this for a while.
If you can.
Do the People Who Live in This House Have the Right to Be “Struggling”?
It is a nice house, but not an extravagant one. It sits next to a house in disrepair, and another house that is kept up. If you notice, there are two doors. The address 196 Lefferts Place, Brooklyn, New York, is divided into two homes, and the house I am talking about is Unit B, consisting of the upper floors of the structure. The cost to be the proud owner of 196 Lefferts Place, Unit B, is $1.395 million.

Have I mentioned lately why I live in Oklahoma?
Why I hate living in my tiny house
At the end of a long driveway, inside a former garage, it’s 240 square feet, or roughly the size of one and a half parking spaces…The small size saves energy and curbs my shopping habits, since there literally isn’t any room for, say, another pair of shoes.

Reading Time: 5 minutes So apparently Paul Saladinos and Mikhaila Peterson have recently been talking about me on a podcast. I haven’t had a chance to listen to the podcast, and I probably won’t. But apparently it had something to do with my statements that the benefits of the carnivore diet are caused by calorie restriction. So I will…

Some clear thinking on this topic and should be shared with anyone who has a firm unshakeable opinion in the superiority of their personal beliefs on the ideal human diet.
Thank you Kevin.
