  1. A big problem now is that the synthetic fentanyls are not responsive to naloxone. At least the ones down here in Florida. So overdoses with these synthetics cannot be reversed with naloxone.

  2. I was just reading an article on this. And it’s actually not synthetic fentanyl. It’s another drug that is used to stretch the fentanyl. At least in Florida about 20% of the street fentanyl has a drug called xylazine. It is actually a veterinary tranquilizer. And it is the xylazine that does not respond to Naloxone. Most of the overdoses around here are from drug abuse with xylazine laced, fentanyl and other opioids. https://www.dea.gov/alert/dea-reports-widespread-threat-fentanyl-mixed-xylazine
